What is this magical place?

Havenwoods State Forest is one of the treasures of Milwaukee. Havenwoods has lived many lives, from being the site of the Milwaukee County House of Corrections, to a U.S. Army base, to the state’s only urban state forest. This land can tell some stories! Find stories and pictures from its past inside the nature center. Then, enjoy the six miles of trails, observe wildflowers, cross the footbridge over Lincoln Creek, enjoy a picnic, listen to birds and watch for wildlife. You are welcome here.
