Invaders of the forest
(and almost everywhere else!)
Havenwoods is 237
acres of woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands.
Because invasive species invade natural areas and
"push out" native species, they
are a threat to the integrity of these areas.
We need
help controlling garlic mustard, teasel, buckthorn,
crown vetch (shown in the photo above), and other
invasive plants. (See
Giving Nature
a Hand.)
We also
need watchful eyes monitoring for new invasives like
the emerald ash borer.

While you are there take time to:
Learn
about invasive species. Watch for them at
Havenwoods, your own backyard, and everywhere! We
can only win the battle against invasives if
everyone helps.
