Havenwoods State Forest
playing in the dirt

Family Play Day was a beautiful day filled with mud pies, kites, forts, and lots of chances to play in nature.

Kids were invited to follow the recipe for basic mud or to create their own recipes. A pool filled with dirt, pans, measuring cups, and utensils made it easy to cook up mud muffins, mud meatballs, and mud shakes.

Kids happily put on insect costumes and played in a giant spider web
. . . until the giant spider suddenly appeared!

Over in the woods, kids built elaborate forts!

The Archery in the Schools people were there to show kids how to shoot a bow.

And, when kids needed a break, they could slip inside a tent
and pretend to sleep under the stars.
